352. COLORING OUTSIDE THE LINES

I don’t know if the matrimonial advertisement has come down or not. Perhaps younger, more eligible women’s profiles were posted. All I know is that my phone has finally stopped ringing like a crazed addict in search of its’ next hit.

Now that I have had a few days to catch up on my sleep and calm down, I have “forgiven” (what I mean by forgiven is that my anger has come down 90% and I am not mad at Bangalore Cousin and Mamaji for posting the ad. I know their intentions were in the right place). Bangalore Cousin further investigated the matter and indeed, discovered that our uncle posted the ad with my email address, name and mobile number. She, too, was completely horrified (thank GOD) that everything but my credit score was detailed in the paper. But she made the valid point that we cannot get mad a 60-year old man for doing something that he thought was right. Bangalore Cousin also pointed out that he has the right to be concerned about the stress that my state of singleton poses on his sister / (my mother).

If she knew, Bangalore Cousin would be SO proud of me. In addition to talking to Possible-Mate-from-Chicago, I went back online to the matrimonial site and contacted several possible mates. This time I decided to color outside the lines, go against my usual, and expressed interest in men who are younger than me and older, divorced men.

Let’s see.

The title of this post reminds me of a dialogue from Sex and the City (movie) where Carrie says Big likes to "Color outside the lines" :)

younger men are great :D my hubbie is 3 years younger and to be honest when I met him (on a matrimonial site!) I did question whether it was a big difference.. to know us you would think it was the other way around ;)

Dear Adventurous Ammena -

A long time back I dated a guy, Punjabi, and who was younger than me. My friends constantly cited all these Hollywood couples of younger man and older woman as proof that these things work out.

And I think they are right, when things work, they just do!
